Description
In 1880, Frenchman Alexandre Marnier-Lapostolle developed the recipe for « Grand Marnier Cordon Rouge », one of the most successful noble liqueurs in the world. It is composed of 51% cognac from Château de Bourg-Charante and 49% alcoholic essence of bitter oranges from the Caribbean. After six months of storage, it is bottled in the characteristic bottle with an engraved seal and a red ribbon. The liqueur can be mixed with tonic water, brandy and lemon juice or sparkling water and lemon juice, to name a few possible uses.
